A dot-connector, idea-curator and solution-finder; connected to primary production and committed to the ideal of sustainability in the true sense of the word.
Completion of a law degree and seven years’ employment with the Crown Solicitor’s Office confirmed a suspected predisposition towards the idealistic.
This idealism, a strong need to make change and a serendipitous series of events saw Anne’s career swerve to the left and into the realm of primary industries and wine.
Working with Primary Industries and Resources SA, Anne’s interest in strategic thinking was nurtured and she guided development of a five-year plan that served as a foundation for the relationship between the South Australian wine industry and state government.
With this understanding of strategy and structure, and with a strong interest in the idea of a truly sustainable industry – socially and economically, as well as environmentally – Anne took on the role of Health and Social Responsibility Policy Officer at the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia where she authored a novel, national, corporate social responsibility strategy for the wine community.
With a natural inclination to bluntly ask “Why?”, and a learned ability to pause before asking the slightly-less-blunt “What value would this provide?”, Anne’s current role with Wine Australia offers scope for the imagination and encourages a natural curiosity. Working in Global Knowledge + People Development, she is a collector and synthesiser of new ideas; a collator of information and new ways of information provision; and a developer and implementer of national and international education programs.
